We're back! And slow.
The annoying issue of the same contacts being shown several times has been fixed about an hour ago. High-fives all around.
But. Due to the new way the Twitter API is dealing with pagination now (i.e. exactly how apps like TwerpScan are supposed to fetch contacts for people with more than 100 of them), is —excuse my french— a pain in the ass. Let me explain.
Before they’ve made the API...
Bug note: showing the same contacts over and over
Just a quick post to let you know that I’m aware that TwerpScan is a bit broken for people with more than 100 contacts in a list at the moment. For them, some contacts will likely show up more than once in the list, and on top of that, the list won’t show all their contacts.
Last night Twitter deprecated an API feature my app is using. Now, to be fair, two months ago they’ve...

German version not stuck anymore
Oh, this is embarassing. During the last update I’ve managed to introduce a little Javascript error which caused the German-language Followers and Following pages to be stuck, to not show anything.
Somehow I didn’t notice, and the issue went unnoticed (by me) for a few days. I’d like to apologize for this lapse. I’ll try to make sure it won’t happen again.
And by...
Site Issues, Now Fixed
For the last few hours the background worker was stuck, and the requested data was never fetched from Twitter.com. I’ve just restarted the worker, all is back to normal now.
Sorry for the inconvenience, folks. I’m currently working on site for a client, and don’t have that much time for TwerpScan at the moment. If you have problems or found a bug, please shoot me a quick bug...

Support TwerpScan & other Twitter devs
Some of you might now that I’m a freelance developer. Working on projects for my clients funds my own projects, TwerpScan being the major one. I don’t get any kind of funding for it, and pay for it myself. In my book, it’s the way it’s to be done. I don’t like the idea of VC money or credits. :) It’s cool, and kind of works for me, but to be honest, I...
The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated
Because I’m not dead. And neither is TwerpScan! I’m just busy after getting a big new client with a big project, is all. Somehow all my own projects need to be financed… you understand.
So, you know. All is well. TwerpScan is working, actually working still fine the last time I’ve checked, and I haven’t abandoned it — I’m just spending most of my waking hours on...

Gruß, @Carlo /...
Bulk Operations Are Here!
I’m happy to announce that I’ve just launched the much requested bulk operations feature.
This new feature allows you to make changes to many contacts at once — that is following, unfollowing and blocking. Gone are the times where you had to click them off one by one, you can now just tick the checkboxes of the applicable contacts, and off you go. Here’s a screenshot:

Bulk Edit Features …Coming Soon
Apparently a lot of you guys want the ability to bulk edit your contacts. Understandable, ‘cause so do I. :)
The good news is: I’m almost done with the feature! It only needs one or two more convenience functions, a bit of backend streamlining, and some additional testing, and then it’ll be ready to go. Two more days max, I’d say.
The bad news (for you): starting...
The Fast & The Pretty
I’m happy to announce a new release of TwerpScan which I’ve just pushed live. It’s mostly a much needed performance and design overhaul, and I’ve also made some under-the-hood changes for upcoming features.
First of all, especially in Internet Explorer the performance was pretty lousy, so I’ve done something about it.
An example: Before, my testbed IE showed me...
Know On A Glimpse Who Is Following You Back
Well, you guys kept asking for it, and so I’ve implemented it. Your Following table (i.e. “Manage Contacts You’re Following”) will now mark those Twitter users who are also following you, who you share a mutual Twitter relationship with.
These contacts are marked with a little green flag next to their name, like in this screenshot:
So, on a glimpse you can...
The Mighty Standalone Drilldown Page
Just a few days ago I’ve implemented the drilldown feature. Now this was just the first step; here’s number two:
The new standalone drilldown page! Can be used by everyone with or without logging into TwerpScan. It’s linked from the front page, and here’s how it works. (Click the thumbnails to get a bigger version of the image.)
Enter a Twitter name…

Taking A Closer Look
When trying to figure out who a particular follower is, it’s always good to have some context. Does this person use other sites on the web? What does he tweet about? Is it all just retweets or links galore?
To help you make the call, I’ve added the so-called user drilldown. Behold!
In the big tables, you’ll now see a looking glass icon. Here’s a screenshot (click for a...
